DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS RECOGNIZES ENRICO MASCIO AND MICHAEL BLANDA FOR COMPLETING THE MSI LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
WILDWOOD, NJ – On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Mayor Ernie Troiano and Public Works Superintendent Richard Harron proudly recognized the accomplishments and dedication of Wildwood Public Works Supervisors Enrico (Rick) Mascio and Michael Blanda for their completion of the Municipal Excess Liability Joint Insurance Fund, MSI Leadership Academy.
The MEL Safety Institute (MSI) created the “MSI Leadership Academy” for managers, administrators, department heads, and supervisors interested in sharpening and expanding their managerial skills. The program’s goal is to enhance leadership skills by offering varied, in-depth managerial training. Individuals who complete the program’s requirements within two years will receive plaques commemorating their graduation from the MSI Leadership Academy.
Assistant Superintendent of Public Works Chalie Cripps stated: “Our Public Works Department is the best in the business. They are professional and supportive of the needs of the community on a daily basis. Our training program has helped employees become certified welders, CDL drivers and mechanics”.
Enrico Mascio is a 30-year employee. Mr. Mascio supervises the cleaning and maintenance of the city streets and beaches. He also serves as the city’s Clean Communities and Recycling Coordinator. Rick continues to strive to be a better manager, in addition to this achievement, Rick earned his Certified Public Works Managers Certification in 2019 from Rutgers and continues to maintain his certification through continued education credits.
Michael Blanda is a 21-year employee. Mr. Blanda supervises the Building Maintenance Department which maintains all city owned buildings and the boardwalk. Mike is journeyman electrician and continues to improve upon his skills as a supervisor through on-line courses.
